Learn about our Affinity Groups
The AAAS STPF Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) Affinity Group aims to enhance the development of fellows and their communities by encouraging a multi-directional exchange of values and ideas between Fellows, the general population, and groups traditionally underrepresented in STEAM. To accomplish this task, the AAAS STPF STEAM Team Fellows have established three primary tenets: mentoring at K-12 schools, catalyzing diversity and inclusion with historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), and improving the communication and community engagement skills of participating fellows. The ultimate goal of the AAAS STPF STEAM Team is to enable Fellows, the general population, and groups traditionally underrepresented in STEAM to participate and feel a sense of belonging in the narrative and process of science.

The AAAS STPF Water Affinity Group brings together Fellows interested in exploring the impact of water on the world around us. We seek to engage members in active community and conversation on topics of scientific and human interest, ranging from watershed protection to desalination, water treatment, and beyond.
